Mountainside Drug Rehab’s Tips For Staying Sober Through The Holidays

Any previously addicted individual who has successfully maintained their sobriety for any length of time will attest to the fact the holiday season is one of the most challenging times of the year to stay on the recovery path. In addition, their successes also show that staying sober is indeed possible by following the guidelines below.

1.  Utilize your sponsor. You aren’t alone in your quest to stay sober during the holiday season. Your sponsor has experience in this area – lean on him or her and ask how to handle what you feel will be the most challenging aspects for you during the holiday season. Drug Rehab is an on-going process.

2.  Regularly check-in. Whether you decide to check-in with your sponsor at regular intervals, or with someone else in recovery, just make sure that you do so! Don’t wait until you are in a precarious situation to check-in. Staying in regular contact with a sober individual can help you as you navigate difficult situations.

3.  Attend an Alka-thon. An Alka-thon is an all day, 24 hour, 12-step based meeting event which is typically scheduled during the holidays. Those in recovery can come and get support from others who have been where they are.

4. Bring a sober person with you to a party. If you have been invited to a holiday gathering where alcohol will be served: first: determine if this is a good idea for you to go; second: if you do go, bring with you another sober person who is working their recovery program.

5.  Bring your own drinks. Make certain that you have a viable alternative to alcohol at a party. Bring your own sparkling water, sparkling cider or other favorite non-alcoholic beverage to insure that you have something to drink while others are imbibing.

While the holidays can be a difficult time to maintain sobriety, it is indeed possible with a little pre-planning and forethought. Don’t be afraid to lean upon family and friends during this holiday season!

Day Before Thanksgiving – Particulary Vulnerable Time For Students

While ‘Black Friday’ is a commonly known term full of hope and excitement for the holiday season, ‘Black Wednesday’ is lesser known, yet one of the most dangerous times for college students.

‘Black Wednesday’ has become one of the largest party days of the year for students ushering in the holiday season with friends; much binge drinking can take place before the students head home to a weekend of Thanksgiving festivities. The term “black” was coined due to individuals blacking out from too much alcohol consumption.

“The holidays should be a time for celebrating, but not to excess and certainly not for those who are underage,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “In general, I don’t think parents are aware that students are making this type of concerted effort to drink with their friends. That’s why it’s so important to make sure that parents know that their child could be at risk for participating in binge drinking so that they are able to intervene before it’s too late.”

National statistics show that more DUI’s occur during the holiday time than at any other time during the year. In addition, The National Center for Victims of Crime reports that, during the holiday season, 40 percent of all traffic fatalities happen when one driver has a blood alcohol count of .08 or more.

Broaching the subject of underage drinking with a minor in your life can be a tough interaction. Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center offers professional intervention services to assist you in helping your teen or young adult begin the road to recovery.

33 Year Danish Study Offers Possible Insight Into Alcoholism

A study conducted jointly by the University of Kansas and the Institute of Preventative Medicine in Copenhagen concludes that it may be possible to definitively identify factors that lead to alcoholism later in life.

Dagens Medicin, a Danish medical journal states that boys who have an alcoholic father, who experienced difficulties during birth and who have been diagnosed with ADHD as a child have a high probability of developing alcohol dependence and addiction as an adult.

“Many of the factors cited have been individually studied and have been shown to contribute to alcoholism later in life,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “It’s not surprising that combining those risk factors would result in an even greater chance of alcohol dependence. Knowing these factors for alcoholism can help those who are at risk to become more aware that their actions and reactions in certain situations may help them avoid the trap of using alcohol as a means to cope with life.”

Research into various causes of alcoholism are ongoing within the field of addiction and, one day, may offer universal prevention to those suffering with alcohol dependence. Until then, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center can assist you or a loved one onto the journey to recovery and living a life of sobriety.

New Study Suggests Gastrointestinal Risk With Moderate Alcohol Consumption

A study recently conducted suggests that even moderate alcohol consumption could put some at risk for gastrointestinal issues.

Researchers from the Mayo Clinic, along with researchers from the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, conducted a study regarding the effects of moderate alcohol consumption and gastrointestinal issues. The study revealed that some who drank even one drink per day were at risk for developing an overgrowth of bacteria in the intestines. Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) can lead to a variety of gastrointestinal problems such as bloating, stomach upset, as well as abdominal pain.

“Moderate alcohol consumption has rarely been cited for health problems in otherwise healthy individuals,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “Some practitioners are further examining the issue of alcohol consumption as a result of this study and the conditions that it discussed, to try to further clarify the whole issue of alcohol consumption.”

While moderate alcohol consumption has been considered safe for most individuals, excessive alcohol consumption can pose significant health as well as personal risks. If you or a loved one suspects that alcoholism or any type of substance abuse is taking a hold in the life of someone you love, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center can assist you in helping them to begin the journey to recovery and living a life of sobriety.

Reduction In Addiction Stigma Sought

The stigma attached to addiction is often a roadblock on the road to recovery for many addicted individuals. National Recovery Month, however, has worked to reduce this stigma through public awareness and education.

While there can be many factors that influence an individuals’ decision on whether or not to seek treatment for their addiction, one of the most prevalent deterring factors seems to be the stigma associated with being an addict and/or alcoholic.

“When most people think of addicts, the image of dirty crack houses may be the first image that comes to one’s mind,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “While the image can be an accurate one, for the most part, addicted individuals don’t fit that stereotype. Instead, they are ordinary people, just like us, with whom we come in contact on a regular basis. They are people who work at stores, office buildings and who have families. Unfortunately, the stereotype of the crack house addict has a tendency to further alienate an addicted individual from going into drug rehab thus perpetuating the cycle of drug and alcohol abuse. In order to reduce the social stigma of addiction, we have to be willing to confront the issue, educate the public on addiction as well as give individuals the additional tools necessary to combat the stigma of addiction. Until we can open up these avenues, the cycle of abuse will continue to rise.”

While addiction and substance abuse is a growing problem facing America, recovery is, indeed possible. If you or a loved one suspects that substance abuse or alcoholism is taking hold in your or their life, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center can assist you in beginning the journey to recovery and living a life of sobriety.

National Recovery Month Draws To Close

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has set aside September of each year to be designated as National Recovery Month.

In doing so, the goal of SAMHSA is to demonstrate to the public that recovery from addictions is attainable.

“I think many people have the idea that addiction recovery is a pipe dream,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “I believe that one of the reasons for this notion is that relapse stories are often highlighted in the media, and the stories of long term addiction recovery aren’t brought to light as often. Because of this, the public gets the idea that relapse is almost always a given in the life of a recovering addict. That’s simply not true. Long term sobriety is possible to achieve, provided that an individual wants to get sober and provided that they participate in a drug rehab program that provides individualized addiction treatment – i.e. an individualized treatment program that is designed specifically for them and that addresses the challenges that they personally face as they get sober.”

Individualized holistic drug rehab has proven to be one of the most effective means of treating a person suffering with addiction. If you feel that a loved one is struggling with addiction, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center can help with professional intervention services that are specialized to each person’s unique situation.

Alcohol Disorders For Females Increasing

A recent review slated to be published in the journal Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research , shows that alcohol disorders among women are on the rise.

While the journal doesn’t specifically pinpoint why alcohol disorders among women are increasing, it suggests that social and financial environments may increase the risk of alcoholism.

“Alcoholism among women can increase risk factors in other areas of their lives,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “For example, women who are heavy drinkers are more vulnerable to sexual violence. In addition, they have greater risk of chronic diseases associated with excessive alcohol consumption. Since alcoholism among females is on the increase, it’s important to turn our focus to prevention and education at a public health level so, at the very least, we increase awareness of the risks to this particular group.”

Many scientists agree that heavy drinking among females poses specific social and health risks to women. As a result of the difference in weight and body size among men and women, females are likely to become more intoxicated than a man consuming the same amount of alcohol. In addition, females metabolize alcohol differently than men, further highlighting the challenges women face when deciding to drink, even on a social level.

Nearly 18 million adults and children in the United States are affected by alcoholism and its related problems. If you feel that you or a loved one has gone beyond social drinking to a more serious problem, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center can help with professional intervention services that are specialized to each person’s unique situation.

Amy Winehouse Family Appears On Anderson Cooper

On Monday, Mitch Winehouse, alongside other family members, appeared on CNN’s Anderson Cooper show and discussed his daughter’s life, death and struggle with drugs and alcohol.

In his first interview, Mitch stated that Amy had been clean for the past three years and that “her problem was alcohol”. In addition, he states that she had been taking the prescription drug Librium, daily, in an effort to decrease her chances of seizure as she detoxed from excessive alcohol use. His opinion is that Ms. Winehouse had a seizure and died from the complications of that seizure.

“The death of Ms. Winehouse brings to light the worldwide problem of alcoholism,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “The tragedy is, most certainly, a brilliant, talented life cut-short. Perhaps even more tragic, however, is that she recognized that she had a problem with drugs and alcohol and was sincerely seeking to fully recover. Our sympathy goes out to the Winehouse family. The world has truly lost a shining star.”

Alcoholism and alcohol problems affect nearly 17.6 million adults and children within the United States alone. Preventing Underage College Drinking Begins At Home

The season for change has come for many parents as they nervously transport their children to an unfamiliar place, with hopes of a successful academic future for their child. Unfortunately, over twenty-five percent of these parents will be disappointed.

Underage, and even legal drinking, in college-age students has been shown to impact students’ academic careers drastically. One quarter of all college students will either have increased absenteeism, poor testing scores or lower overall grades as a result of drinking.

“While these statistics may seem somewhat bleak to parents, there are steps that families can take to prevent these outcomes,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “Initially, parents can be proactive by helping to guide their children to a college or university whose policies most closely align with the values that have been established within their family. For some families, that may mean complete abstinence from alcohol, on or off campus, for any age group. For other families, that may mean locating an institution that has a reputation for strict adherence, as well as severe consequences, if underage drinking takes place. In addition, parents should educate their college-bound children to the high-risks associated with drinking for this particular age group, such as increased deaths, injury, sexual abuse, unplanned pregnancies and increased health problems. By planning and having appropriate conversations with their college-aged young adult children, parents truly can have a dramatic impact on whether or not their child becomes part of the sad statistics.”

Statistics show that nearly 2,000 students, ranging in age from 18 to 24, die annually from alcohol-related unintentional injuries, with the most coming as a result of car accidents. In addition, over one-half million students of the same age group are accidentally injured while under the influence of alcohol.

If you suspect that your underage child has already developed a problem with alcohol prior to entering college, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center can help with professional intervention services that are specialized to their unique situation.

Social Cues Influences Far More Than Just Google, Study Shows

The latest buzz within the online world is how big a factor social cues are within search engine ranking results on the Internet. However, the bigger, more important story is how great of an impact social platforms, and the internet in general, can have on the lives of teens and young adults in relation to alcohol consumption and drug use.

A survey conducted by Columbia University’s National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) found that teens who use social platforms and image sharing sites are three times more likely to drink alcohol. In addition, the study shows that those same teens are twice as likely to use marijuana and five times more likely to smoke tobacco than those who don’t frequent the Internet.

“Social networking is a relatively new phenomenon that wasn’t previously a factor in alcohol and drug abuse,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “New types of media are continually cropping up that show images and videos depicting underage drinking and, unfortunately, those images do have an effect on the choices that young people may make in relation to using those substances. When underage drinking and illegal drug use is glorified, teens see those choices as acceptable and commonplace. We need to make certain that we monitor our children’s online activity and communicate to them that it doesn’t matter what others choose to do, those behaviors still remain unacceptable and, more importantly, illegal.”

The CASA survey showed that 70 percent of teens (approximately 17 million) between the ages of 12-17 spend times on social networking sites daily. The survey also indicated that 90 percent of parents did not believe that specific types of internet exposure would make their children more likely to get involved with drugs or alcohol.

Suspected teen drug or alcohol use is, oftentimes, a difficult subject for parents to broach, but fortunately parents aren’t alone. Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center offers professional intervention services to help get teens and people of all ages on the road to recovery.

Family Believes Alcohol Contributing Factor In Amy Winehouse Death

The autopsy results are back in the death of Amy Winehouse and, as the family suspected, illegal drugs were not a factor in her death.

Ms. Winehouse’s family has stated that she had given up drugs at least three years prior to her death, but has struggled with alcohol abuse. They believe that quitting alcohol cold turkey could have caused a shock to her system, triggering fatal seizures.

“Many times, people think that they can simply stop drinking and they’ll be fine,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “While their intentions are certainly pure and honest, those intentions have often proved fatal. When a person who struggles with alcohol abuse suddenly stops consuming alcohol, their body can, indeed, go into shock and seizures can occur. That’s why it’s important to seek help when one is trying to stop habitual drinking. Effective alcohol rehab will consist of gradually and safely weaning an individual off of alcohol, helping to manage the symptoms of withdrawals and then get them to a point where they can deal with the deeper issues surrounding their alcoholism. Safety is key when helping a person conquer their alcoholism.”

Winehouse Family Turns Tragedy Into Hope For Others

Just a few short weeks ago, the news of the death of Amy Winehouse took the world by surprise.

Ms. Winehouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse, devastated over his daughter’s tragic death, has decided to use her death as an avenue to help addicted individuals to take the steps to recover from alcohol abuse and drug addiction.

“Mitch Winehouse’s desire to help others is a wonderful thing to do in his daughter’s memory,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “Mr. Winehouse didn’t waste any time with his decision and commitment to helping others who are struggling with addiction. When making his public announcement, he made it known that by setting up this new drug rehab center, he wants to help those who may not be able to afford private addiction treatment. Unfortunately, affordability is often times a factor in an individual’s decision of whether or not to go into rehab. We’re encouraged that Mr. Winehouse has brought this fact to light and, as a result, are hopeful that more individuals will be able to access the services that they need for recovery.”

Affordable drug rehab is a challenge that has plagued the addiction treatment field for years. Fortunately, nearly one and a half decades ago, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center saw this challenge as an opportunity to create a drug addiction treatment program that offered quality treatment and was among the most affordable.

Amy Winehouse Death Highlights Addiction Problem

Although official autopsy results haven’t been revealed in the death of Amy Winehouse, one thing that the world does know: addiction problems plagued this young, talented musician.

The death of Ms. Winehouse has shown the world that addiction problems are a global issue, not isolated to any particular geographical area or specific demographic profile. It’s a problem that the world must conquer, together.

“The death of Amy Winehouse brings addiction to the forefront and the attention of the world,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “While the cause of her death isn’t fully known, her addiction struggles have been public knowledge for several years. Elderly Alcoholism Growing Problem For America

While the elderly within America are growing in number, so is their problem of alcoholism.

Medical literature has been cited to say that 10 to 15 percent of persons 65 years of age and older have a drinking problem.

“We tend to think that alcoholism is a young to middle age problem,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “That’s simply not the case. In fact, it could be said that the elderly population present greater risk factors than their younger counterparts. For example, when one becomes older, he /she can become isolated due to the death within his/her circle of friends. In addition, after retiring, an individual can become depressed, leading to more isolation. It’s important to look out for the warning signs of alcoholism among the elderly population and to help them remain actively engaged in life. We have to remember that alcoholism is not just a problem plaguing the youth of America – it’s a problem plaguing America as a whole.”

The dangers of alcohol consumption in the elderly can be far greater than any other age group. Medications that are commonly prescribed for the elderly often cause adverse reactions when combined with alcohol. In addition, alcohol can depresses the immune system, exacerbating the effects of otherwise treatable, common illnesses.

If you have an elderly or aged parent or relative who you suspect may have a problem with alcohol, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center can provide specialized intervention services that will assist you in approaching your loved one in a concerned, loving manner that will help them begin their journey to recovery.

Sounding The Alarm On Drug Abuse

In recent times, a startling number of Hollywood and pop star elite have become slaves to the effects of drug and/or alcohol abuse. Many of these individuals’ lives and the lives of their families have been drastically impacted either through their imprisonment, or worse, their death.

“America and the entire world tends to idolize the rich and famous,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “We see the lights, the big city, the seemingly-exciting lives they lead. But, many fail to see that the perks of a Hollywood and pop star lifestyle also have challenges, many of which can lead to drug or alcohol abuse. It isn’t until a tragedy, such as death by overdose, happens that we are shocked back into reality and realize the magnitude of the many issues faced by those who are viewed as enjoying fame and fortune. The enemy for them can be drugs and alcohol.”

In a six-year period, the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) reported that unintentional drug overdose deaths more than doubled within the United States. Additionally, unintentional drug overdose became the second leading cause of unintentional injury, slightly behind car accidents. Most of the accidental overdoses were attributed not to illegal street drugs such as heroin or cocaine, but were found to be mostly associated with prescription narcotics.

Initially, the signs of drug use and abuse can be difficult to discern. However, as time goes on and the use and abuse gets worse, the signs are easily detected. If you suspect that your loved one is experimenting with drugs, you can help them by utilizing professional intervention services, which are offered by Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center.

New Deadly Designer Drugs Emerge In Russia

Designer drugs aren’t just a problem facing America. In fact, they’re fast becoming an international epidemic.

The newest designer drug to affect Russia’s youth is simply called krokodil . Bearing the name of one of the deadliest reptiles, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that most individuals who become addicted to the drug, die or, at best, suffer massive, irreparable brain damage.

“While this newest designer drug has yet to hit America , it’s important to take note of the countries that it is affecting,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab. “We have to understand the enemy because, as much as we don’t want to believe that America will remain unaffected, that’s simply not true. And, this is one of the most deadly designer drugs we’ve seen.”

The active component in krokodil is a commonly available narcotic called codeine. To the codeine is added various lethal ingredients, sometimes even paint thinners. It’s then injected, producing a high that is similar to heroine and lasts, generally, just about an hour. Youth prefer krokodil to heroine as it’s cheaper and easier to obtain. Many who become addicted die within two to three years.

While krokodil hasn’t emerged as a widely used substance in America, there are plenty of other designer drugs on the market that young people are using. If you know or suspect that your loved one may have a problem with designer drugs or any drug abuse and experimentation, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center offers professional intervention services to assist you in getting them the help that they need to recover. For the past 13 years, Mountainside has established itself as an innovator within the addiction treatment field, and the treatment modalities Mountainside utilizes are regarded as among the most cutting-edge approaches in helping individuals to get, and to remain, sober.

Driving While ‘Buzzed’ Is Still Significant Risk For Life-Threatening Accidents

A recently published report indicates that driving while even slightly buzzed causes increased traffic accidents.

The journal, Addiction , published a study from the University of California San Diego which shows that individuals who are buzzed while driving are more likely to speed as well as not use their seatbelts properly. In addition, researchers found that accidents involving alcohol, even at a scant, detectable level, are 36.6 percent more severe than accidents that don’t have alcohol as a contributing factor.

“Many people think, ‘I’ve only had one drink; I’ll be fine to drive’, but this research clearly shows that this is not the case,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “Understanding the effects of alcohol on the brain, we’ve always been advocates for not driving after consuming what is perceived as a small amount of alcohol. Functionality of the brain is impaired, even with supposed insignificant amounts of alcohol. It’s important to always designate a non-drinking driver when consuming even just one drink. “

This particular study bolsters the position of many who advocate lowering the legal limit of intoxication in an effort to save more lives.

If you know or suspect that your loved one may have a problem with alcohol addiction or any other type of addiction, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center offers professional intervention services to assist you in getting them the help that they need to recover. Holistic Drug Rehab Effective For Combatting Increased Benzodiazepine Abuse

The Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recently published a study that indicates benzodiazepine usage has tripled over the past decade.

Benzodiazepines are a class of drugs which are used to treat seizures, anxiety and insomnia. They were created back in the 1950’s as an alternative to barbiturate use within the mental health field. While opiates still remained the number one abused controlled substance in this study, benzodiazepines ranked number two.

“All FDA approved medications have their place when used properly,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “The issue is when those substances fall into the wrong hands. And, since there are more individuals being prescribed these types of drugs, the chances of abuse by a friend or relative are increased. Fortunately, holistic drug rehab is effective in overcoming these types of addictions. Mountainside’s entire team of professional social workers and counselors all have extensive experience in the field of addiction. Our drug rehab program is second to none.”

Bath Salt Abuse Becoming International Problem

The most recent substance abused and labeled a designer drug is fast becoming an international epidemic.

Bath salts, a potentially deadly combination of various chemicals such as mephedrone and MDPV, are highly addictive and extremely dangerous, producing hallucinations and physical manifestations that can be fatal.

“What’s remarkable about this substance is that, on the package, it is actually labeled ‘not for human consumption’,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “It’s terrifying to think that experimentation happens with substances that aren’t even to be ingested into the human body. And, unfortunately America is not the only country to be grossly affected by this epidemic. Countries such as England are also experiencing marked increase in the improper use of bath salts as well as the detrimental effects that follow bath salt abuse.”

Bath salts are particularly appealing to teens and young adults for a variety of reasons, mainly because they are easy and inexpensive to obtain. Producing side effects such as hallucinations and heart palpitations, the effects of the improper use of bath salts have been cited as the cause of death in several autopsies performed globally.

If you know or suspect that your teen or young adult is abusing bath salts or any other type of substance, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center offers professional intervention services to assist you in getting them the help that they need to recover. For the past 13 years, Mountainside has established itself as an innovator within the addiction treatment field, and the treatment modalities Mountainside utilizes are regarded as among the most cutting-edge approaches in helping individuals to get, and to remain, sober.

Bath Salts Pose Legitimate Danger For Teens, Young Adults

It may be difficult to believe that something with such an innocuous name can be so dangerous, even deadly.

A new designer drug marketed as “bath salts” has nothing to do with a relaxing time bathing. In fact, many are using the product with no thought of relaxing at all.

“Bath salts are being legally sold and are being used by more and more young people to get high,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center . “They can be found at many convenience stores or smoke shops, and they contain stimulants such as mephedrone and MDPV. Individuals generally snort them to get high, but they can also be smoked or injected. Some states have banned the sale of bath salts and Mountainside is hoping to help push a nationwide ban on the substance. If we don’t address this problem immediately, there will be a whole new drug epidemic plaguing America and, with that, comes tragic deaths.”

Bath salts are among the growing group of the so-called designer drugs that produce a high similar to that of a methamphetamine or cocaine, but with the addition of hallucinogenic side effects. Sold under a variety of different names, the use of bath salts has been linked to suicide, hallucinogenic rages, and even speculation of murder.
